As a huge Disney fan, I was thrilled to see this year’s production of Disney On Ice, titled “Worlds of Enchantment”. As per typical Disney fashion, the show was vibrant, colorful, and made you want to get up to dance and sing along to your favorite Disney songs. The show featured four stories: Toy Story 3, The Little Mermaid, Cars, and Frozen. The variety was refreshing as the show alternated between the Pixar stories and the Princess stories. The characters wowed the audience with their skating and even surprised some of the little ones in the crowd by pulling them onstage in a little car during “Under The Sea”. It made for quite a magical experience.
However, I was a little disappointed in the seemingly inconsistent times given to each story. The popularity of Toy Story and Frozen seemed to outshine The Little Mermaid and Cars and it seemed as if the less popular sections were rushed through as a result.
Worlds of Enchantment definitely lived up to its name as it enchanted the audience with its special effects featuring fire, snow, and of course the light up ears and wands that twinkled in the crowds. “You’ve Got a Friend in Me” didn’t leave a dry eye in the house as Andy prepared to say goodbye to his beloved toys, Olaf dazzled the crowd with his toe-tapping production of “In Summer” and of course, the show-stopping “Let It Go” got everyone singing.
If you have Disney lovers in your family, this is definitely a show for you. Disney On Ice proves that you’re never too young or too old to enjoy the classic songs and characters.
