Born in San Francisco and touring the country as a child, Zephyr Goza grew up as a true nomad, spending his childhood onstage as part of his parent’s theater troupe (he was the youngest ever Tiny Tim in a production of A Christmas Carol, taking the role at age four.) Currently he resides in Providence, Rhode Island. Originally visiting Tomb during its run in Boston, Zephyr fell in love with 5 Wits immediately and applied to work there. He started with 5 Wits in 2010, first serving as one of the original Guides in Foxboro before becoming a shift supervisor. In 2014, he took over as the manager of the store. In 2016, he briefly relocated to Albany, NY to serve as the manager of the brand new 5 Wits Albany before returning to Foxboro as the Group Sales Manager in the following year. Most recently, he has taken on the role of Sales and Marketing Manager, responsible for directing the company’s marketing efforts on every front. When not hard at work for 5 Wits, Zephyr can be found at home with his lizard and cat (often still working), at Disneyland, or performing onstage with his band.
Amy Connell was born and raised in Providence, RI where she studied Theatrical Performance at Rhode Island College. Amy started her 5 Wits adventure in August of 2015 as a Guide in the Foxboro location. She became the Group Sales manager in February of the next year and took over as Operations Manager of the Foxboro location in July of 2017 before relocating to Buffalo NY to take on the Walden Galleria location in October 2018. A Shakespeare nerd by choice, a punch line by default, and a fifth wave feminist by necessity, she ran a monthly Ladies Night stand up comedy show and Shakespearean neo-burlesque troupe in RI before shuffling off to Buffalo NY on her 5 Wits adventure! In Buffalo, you can usually find her trying to convince a bar to allow her dog in to enjoy the live music with her before giving up and going back home to her best pet frieneds, Clementine & Gracie, and rewatching Marvelous Mrs. Maisel again while procrastinating her laundry.
Angela has been a fan of 5 Wits ever since excavating through Tomb in Boston. She joined the 5 Wits team in 2017 as a guide in Foxboro, became a Supervisor in 2018, and moved to Albany in 2019 to become the Operations Manager. Whether it’s breaking into the enemy base in Espionage, or braving an asteroid field in Deep Space, Angela delights in sharing her enthusiasm for all the 5 Wits adventures with family, friends, and guests. She also enjoys kickboxing and camping, but not usually at the same time.
Asia started at 5 Wits at the ripe old age of 19 as a guide in Foxboro, MA location in August of 2010. She was part of the opening crew and has stayed with the company ever since! Any other time you can find him sitting at home, doing something on his Xbox, and probably drinking a tea or some coffee.
Charlie came to 5 Wits in 2017 with an extensive background in paddlesports instruction & retail store management. Through their time as a guide in Foxboro, they've drawn on that background to guide guests through both 20,000 Leagues & Espionage. These days Charlie spends more time passing their knowledge and excitement on to new staff in their role as Operations Manager in Foxboro... though they still take the time to guide a group or two through an adventure whenever possible!
Jeff Derouin is the Venue Support Manager for 5 Wits and began his time with us in February of 2016. It was a strange, cold February when Jeff Derouin rolled into 5 Wits. He started in what has been called, “2016 Break Week” or “The Week that Broke the Report”. Jeff came to us from Dunkin’ Donuts where he was a store manager for a year. He first began as a Shift Supervisor for the Syracuse location. After being in position for eight months he took the opportunity to move up to the position of Merchandising Manager. Over the last two years he has worked diligently at helping push the company forward. He has been part of the last four store openings and is always available to assist the Operations Managers in their day to day operations. This has led to his current position of Venue Support Manager. When he is not at 5 Wits, Jeff spends time with his wife Rebecca, adventuring around Central New York, and is currently pursuing his Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources Management.
John Taylor is the operations manager for 5 Wits Syracuse. He joined the team in March 2014, bringing 20 years of retail background, and 10 years of store management experience (13 of those years with Blockbuster Video). Hailing from the small town of New Hartford, New York, John is incapable of telling a short story and has an insatiable musical appetite. Growing up, he enjoyed his teenage years spent energetically behind a drum kit. Nowadays he obsesses over creating annual “top 10” album lists (or top 30!) and when trying to summarize what he looks for in a band, it comes down to the alchemy of: 4 guys on instruments, catchy chord progressions, earnestness, cymbals, and groovy bass lines.

Matt holds a degree in mechanical engineering from MIT, where he is on the faculty as a part-time instructor, as well as an MBA from Harvard Business School.
